Director of Education

As Director of Education, Alison has responsibility for rapid and sustainable school improvement by ensuring each school provides their pupils with a good quality of education. She is responsible for the design of the intended curriculum, which has been developed over time to meet the needs and context of each of Weaver Trust’s schools. Alison has ensured the ambitious and sequential curriculum builds on learning, so pupils are prepared for their next phase in learning. To ensure the effective implementation of the Trust curriculum, Alison provides research-informed training to leaders and

practitioners: Pedagogical strategies, assessment, provision for SEND are all part of the Trust offer.

As a current Ofsted Inspector, Alison is able to share up to date school improvement methodology in order to secure improved outcomes for all pupils in Weaver Trust.

The quality of the curriculum was a key strength in a recent Ofsted visit: ‘The curriculum has been meticulously planned to build on pupils’ prior learning and set high expectations of pupils’ achievement… It is extremely well-structured and provides children with meaningful experiences in all subjects.’ Ofsted, 2020.
